Our organisation fights poverty in Switzerland and in around 30 other countries - together with the people who are affected by it. They have a unique knowledge of the mechanisms and consequences of poverty, marginalisation and the resulting injustice. This knowledge is at the heart of the activities we carry out. Specifically, we create places of encounter, exchange and cultural participation, such as street libraries for children; we engage in dialogue with institutions such as social schools so that they take into account the needs and suggestions of people experiencing poverty; we hold workshops to raise awareness among young people about the realities of people affected by poverty and exclusion in Switzerland; we welcome particularly disadvantaged families to our national centre for recreational, creative and exchange stays. The legacies and bequests received by ATD Fourth World are used to take sustainable action against poverty and marginalisation. Each donation can be allocated to a specific campaign.
